Timothy Kinzel, D.D.S.

Dr. Kinzel, a 1984 graduate of the Marquette University School of Dentistry, completed his training in Pediatric Dentistry in 1986 at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and started practicing in Madison at that time.  Originally from Peshtigo Wisconsin, Dr. Tim and his wife, Gail, have four children, and they live in Middleton.

Dr. Kinzel has had many rewarding professional opportunities over the years, including working with the Craniofacial Anomalies Team through the University Hospital’s Department of Plastic Surgery and teaching dental residents at Meriter Hospital.  Also active in organized dentistry, he has served as President of the Dane County Dental Society and the Wisconsin Society of Pediatric Dentists.  He has served on many committees and task forces for the Wisconsin Dental Association and the American Dental Association including chairing the Legislative Committee for the WDA.  In 2008, Dr, Kinzel completed a four year term on the ADA’s Council on Governmental Affairs, serving as Vice Chairman the last year.

A member of the American Dental Association, Wisconsin Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Wisconsin Society of Pediatric Dentists and the Dane County Dental Society, Dr. Kinzel is also honored to be a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.  He is also a Fellow of several dental honor organizations including the Pierre Fauchard Academy, Academy of Dentistry International, American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists.

In conclusion, Dr. Kinzel truly enjoys working with all the partners and employees of Children’s Dental Center and appreciates their efforts to create a fun positive environment where we can provide high quality dental care for infants, children, adolescents and patients with special needs.  Especially, Dr. Kinzel wants to thank his patient, and friend, Sawyer G., for his help and encouragement in completing this bio.

Eric teDuits, D.D.S., M.S.

Since graduating from the University of Iowa Pediatric Dentistry Program in 1992, Dr. Eric teDuits has established a private practice in the Madison area and along with his wife Laura, have five children who keep them very busy.

He serves as assistant clinical professor at the University of Wisconsin Medical School in the Department of Pediatrics, teaching pediatric residents and nurse practitioner students and is a member of the executive council for the Children Health Alliance Wisconsin.

As a member of the Dane County Headstart Health Committee, he and his partners treat the majority of the area’s yearly 750+ Headstart children, provide services to developmentally and physically disabled, and continue to be one of the few providers to treat patients with Medical Assistance coverage.

Finally, Dr. teDuits is professionally active at the local, state, and national levels. At the local level, he is the past president for the Dane County Dental Society. For the Wisconsin Dental Association he serves on the legislative committee which helps educate state legislators about dental issues. At the national level, he is a Diplomate and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and serves as chairman of the Scientific Programs Committee.

Daniel DeJarlais, D.D.S. - "Dr. Dan"

Dr. DeJarlais is known to the children as “Dr. Dan.” His goal is to provide a high standard of pediatric dental care in a kind, fun environment to infants, children, adolescents, and children with special needs.

Dr. Dan grew up in Calumet City, Illinois and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Northwestern University in 1997. His certificate in pediatric dentistry was earned at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in 1999.

Dr. Dan’s personal interests lie in the areas of his family, wife Candice and their two children, Katie and Danny. He enjoys running, traveling and outdoor activities.

Dr DeJarlais is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

In 2007, Dr. DeJarlais received the Arthur Nowak Award from the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry for obtaining the highest score on the oral clinical examination.

Allison Dowd, D.D.S.

Dr. Allison Dowd is a Wisconsin native, growing up in Milwaukee. After earning her dental degree from Marquette University in 2001, she earned her certificate in pediatric dentistry from The Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado in 2003.

Dr. Allison joined Children’s Dental Center of Madison in 2003, where she found partners that shared in her philosophy of providing excellent dental care to children and adolescents.

Madison has become a great home for Dr. Allison. She enjoys the outdoors and family time with her husband and two children.

Dr. Allison is a member of the American Dental Association, Wisconsin Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Wisconsin Society of Pediatric Dentists, Dane County Dental Society, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. She is also a Diplomat and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and serves as a trustee on the Dane County Dental Board, as the pediatric lead for the WDA Mission of Mercy, and on the Dean Medical Clinic cleft lip and palate team.

In addition, Dr Allison is involved in the education of dentists at several levels. At the Max Pohle Dental Clinic at Meriter Hospital, she serves as chief of pediatric dentistry and is involved in the training of the residents. She has given lectures through the WDA for the Dental Home, and through Children’s Health Alliance of Wisconsin for treating patients with special needs.

Anthony Hernandez, D.D.S.

Understanding each individual child and creating a fun environment that uniquely suits that child is an everyday goal of Dr. Hernandez. His tireless enthusiasm towards children’s dentistry helps the patient and parents relax and enjoy their time together at the office.

After receiving his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa in 2000, “Dr. Tony” obtained his certificate in the specialty of Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Alabama Birmingham College of Dentistry and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Following the completion of his residency program, Dr. Hernandez moved back to Wisconsin, where he was born and raised. After 2 years of practice in the Appleton area he relocated to Madison to be closer to family, and has remained here since.

A true Wisconsinite, Dr. Tony enjoys cheering on the Packers, Badgers, Brewers and Bucks. During his free time you can find him either riding his bike, running, hiking, fishing or walking his dog Jack.

Professionally, Dr. Hernandez is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Wisconsin Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Dane County Dental Society. In addition, he is an attending staff member at the Max Pohle Dental Clinic at Meriter Hospital, helping train general practice residents in pediatric dentistry. Through continuing education courses around the country, he has kept up with the advances in techniques and technology in the specialty of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Tony’s passion for providing the best possible experience to each child is contagious. He and his staff look forward to the privilege of caring for your child.

Amy Kramer, D.D.S.

Dr. Kramer completed her undergraduate training at the University of Iowa. She went on to obtain her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Iowa in 2001. In 2003, she completed her pediatric dental residency at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. After practicing in Washington State for several years, Dr. Kramer returned to the Midwest to be near her family. She and her husband Andrew, an oral surgeon, chose Madison because of the wonderful opportunities the community has to offer.

Dr. Kramer enjoys spending time with her son Chet, and twin daughters Liv and Marin. Having three children of her own, she understands the importance of creating positive dental experiences for children of all ages.

In addition, Dr. Kramer is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry as well as a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

She is also a member of the American Dental Association, Wisconsin Dental Association, and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Wisconsin Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Dane County Dental Society.

Dr. Kramer will be joining our team at our westside location, at 7001 Old Sauk Road.

We are excited to have Dr. Kramer on board and look forward to adding her knowledge and expertise to our team.
